Mirror Image Vintage Touring Co. now offers a great 5 day trip to some of South Australia's Great "Outback" Destinations.

Day 01 : Adelaide to the Clare Valley (Wednesday)
The Clare Valley, situated at 400 metres above sea level is seen by most visitors as a region of mysterious misty mornings in winter, russet colours, and vivid sunsets in autumn, and green and brown colours in summer.

We enjoy morning tea at Bungaree Sheep Station and then a brief tour of this fascinating property, before returning to Clare for lunch.
This afternoon we enjoy several wine tastings in "the valley"

Accommodation: Clare Country Club
[or similar]

Day 02 (BL): The Flinders Ranges (Thursday)
The Flinders Ranges, in the northern part of South Australia, are colourful and rugged.
For 40,000 years this place has been special for Aboriginal people who followed its dreaming trails stretching from the sea to the centre of Australia.

From the Clare wine country we travel to Burra where copper was discovered in 1845. Very quickly a town developed with a community of 5,000 in 1851.
At that time Adelaide's population was 18,000 people.
We tour this historic township and then travel on to Wilpena Pound in the Flinders Ranges National Park for a picnic lunch.
In the afternoon we travel into the more remote Northern Flinders and our base for the next two nights - Arkaroola.

Accommodation: Arkaroola Tourist Village

Day 03 (BD): Northern Flinders Ranges (Friday)

The
Northern Flinders are not as well known and are a little more difficult to get to than Wilpena Pound - but the effort is worth it!
This morning we take the incredible four wheel drive Ridge Top Tour which will take your breath away.
We return to Arkaroola at lunchtime
Accommodation: Arkaroola Tourist Village

Day 04 (BL): Travelling South (Saturday)

From Arkaroola we travel to the western edge of the Ranges. We stop at an Outback Pub at Parachilna for an early lunch before continuing to Port Augusta.
This town at the top of Spencer Gulf is refered to as "The Crossroads of Australia" It is the junction for the major
trans-continental transport services. Australia's best known trains the Indian Pacific and "TheGhan" both pass through this town.
